Some of these errors believe it or not, some of you if not most of you are very familiar with. [Although this game is really unique from The Sims 3, they're just the same in some areas] This is a completely different version of the same engine so I guess there would be some of the same issues. They’ve released patches of course and guess what? They did not work…for most. Well here’s the list. Feel free to add to it in the comments below. If you have solutions, you can post those as well.
- Can’t reset Sim. Sim ‘resetsim’ cheat code does not work. Sims getting stuck in beds, stuck during quests etc. Don’t count on your stuck Sim dying, they don’t. [You may have to type in 'testingcheatsenabled true' before you use this cheat, not exactly sure].
- With ‘testingcheatsenabled’ activated, game will not save.
- Patches don’t work. Version 1.1, 1.2.3. [Error message: "The installed version of the application could not be determined. The setup will now terminate"].
- People have pregnant and frozen Sims.
- Characters are disappearing. If the game is acting glitchy before saving and you save then load the game up, that’s when they seem to disappear. That’s odd.
- Market stalls come up missing after installing patches.
- Getting ‘no disc’ error with a digital download. [Psst, if you get this error, go to GameCopyWorld and find The Sims Medieval No-CD patch, it's a suggestion, not a guarantee].
- The Sims 3 no longer plays after playing The Sims Medieval.
- Missing NPC’s.
- Black screen errors when starting the game. [Make sure your computer at least meet the minimum requirements to run this game. For example, if you have a Dell Dimension 3000, you cannot play this game].
- More like an annoyance. People complaining about the ‘Larders’.
- Bard can write plays but cannot perform them. “The Bard is currently using it…” etc.
- When redeeming code for The Sims Medieval Collectors Edition, it’s not correct. People end up unlocking the “Limited Edition” DLC.
- Good Ole “To please refer to [place # here] of the Read Me file.” error is back when trying to save. The numbers in question are #19 and #16 so far. Crazy thing is, there is no “#16″ or “#19″ in the Readme file.
- Beacon of Hope not removing responsibilities but instead replacing them with new ones.
- You can buy unlimited items when using the “buy craft items” interaction on a Sim. Buying armor and having merchant run them to advorton triples your money, come back, do it again. Also the money spent stays with the Smith as well.
- When trading import items such as herbs to Tredony or Armor to Advorton, Advorton only gives you the money from one item type. If you sell a bunch of different ones you won’t get any cash for them although it is reported on the end of your voyage.
- If you import a level 10 character, you lose all monies, items, etc. If you become a Monarch, you don’t get any daily salary.
- Can’t leave ‘furnishing’ mode’. [Might want to find an alternative if you want to leave a mode other than F1 if that's all you know].
- Can’t gather ‘Azurit’ or ‘Belladonna’. Gives ‘No interaction’ message. [Please note that hero type doesn't matter].
- Digital downloaded game won’t load. [Error message: "To run this application, you first must install one of the following versions of the .NET Framework: v4.0 Contact your application publisher for instructions about obtaining the appropriate version of the .NET Framework."] Well, if you’ve done this and it still doesn’t work, get your money back.
- Receives error message, “A serious error has occurred while loading ‘Meganiullis.tsm’. It is strongly recommended to restart the application.” when starting their world.
- Fatal flaws are being just that, fatal.
- C++ Runtime errors. Compatibility issues, unable to install because screen for installation refuses to show. [Windows 7, Windows Vista, formally nicknamed by yours truly, Windows Shitsta].
- Spending too much time in CAS can cause eye color issues to ensue to the point where the color doesn’t change at all.
- “Won’t save in tutorial” error message pops up when trying to save. Thing is, they’re not in the tutorials.
- ‘Daily income’ is no longer functioning. [To fix this error/issue you will have to uninstall the game and twiddle around in your registry. Your achievements will be saved in 'My Documents' just as long as you don't
do a complete uninstall].
- Completely uninstall the game. Move the My Documents/EA/The Sims Medieval Folder to your desktop, to keep from deleting your saves, achievements, etc.There are instructions somewhere on how to manually uninstall and fix the registry if you feel confident enough to complete.Reinstall the game and manually downloaded the patch. Start the game and then exit. Move Saved Sims and achievement files back to their locations. Start ‘New Beginnings’ over to work on the stupid 10 heroes with ‘Whale Ate my Parents’ and to verify results. Daily Income should be functioning again.
- Watch it, changing graphics card could cause the tutorials to reset themselves.
- Recipients sometimes reject deliveries from blacksmith for no clear reason.
- In the ‘Plague’ quest the physician adds special medicine to well but this task don’t register as completed. You can draw medicated water from the well, but can’t do anything with it or proceed to finish the quest.
- Monarch can’t get pregnant after getting married in ‘Heir to the Throne’.
- The Constable is just one big issue. Always getting stuck.
- When clicking ‘Furnish’ Spy Quarter or Market, the wall wasn’t automatically hidden like the others, couldn’t interact with the furniture or even see inside. When commanding Monarch to enter, the game just loaded a bit then crashes to desktop.
- Queen is constantly giving birth but there’s no baby. Just non-stop moaning.
- Whenever moving the camera into the bathroom area of the palace, the game flashes then crashes computer.
- Gastrobury’s benefit does notwork.
- ‘Gussy up’ makes game go into tutorial mode.
- Game won’t go past launcher. [Mac OS X].
- Items not showing up in shoppe.
- The famous CRC errors.
- After updating game, creating heroes is now an issue.
